THE “APOSTOLIC ORBIT” (How the Church Takes More Territory)

One of the notable signs of a Kingdom driven church is that it has what’s called an apostolic orbit. 

Some people may call it a network or “metron” etc. 

An apostolic orbit is when you have churches, leaders, or ministries that function in relationship and alignment with the main “apostolic centre” - and in a divinely interconnected way. These affiliate ministries or churches that you’re in relationship with may not bear your name or branding, but they are connected to you in relationship, common vision, and mission. 

Those ministries within the orbit of the apostolic centre not only benefit from the grace and resources of the main centre, but also through their shared resources have discovered they are “stronger together.” This is actually one of the unique proofs of an apostolic centre, making it a bit different than the more common local church community or house church that focuses exclusively on pastoring those who assemble. 

Now, you might think your church isn’t a centre and doesn’t have a network or orbit, having only just a few ministries you relate with. However, if you begin to invest in those ministries God has entrusted to you in relationship, you will find the principle of stewardship begins to bear the fruit of being “trusted with more.” In fact, your ministry and its orbit can be trusted by God to steward the grace for your city, region and even nation.
