WHY I'VE BEEN TURNING DOWN INVITATIONS TO SPEAK AT PROPHETIC CONFERENCES

It is not that I am turning down all speaking engagements in this space. I am mostly just accepting invitations from leadership who have read my book - Reset.

Here is my reason…

Over the years I have had the privilege of serving on the Canadian Prophetic Council among other great prophetic groups and movements here in Canada.  This opened the door to speaking on the prophetic conference circuit many times over the years in Canada and cross borders.

One thing I began to notice…

Most (I didn’t say all) prophetic conferences or gatherings had no outcome orientation…

Of course as prophetic people we need to gather, fellowship and prophesy. But the excesses and general lack of purpose in many of our prophetic conferences often became events filled with all manner of prophetic words (some genuine, many not) released and celebrated …but unfortunately bore little to no fruit beyond the event itself.

Prophetic words were quickly forgotten, not documented for reference, not judged biblically or processed in a way where the Body could gain any traction. I noticed the lack of equipping and lack of honor for the authority of scripture was producing an apathetic people, susceptible to delusion, unbiblical practices and extremes.

Some of this had to do with the obvious absence of apostolic presence, partnership and insight. But also, an emerging culture and mindset being created (and reinforced with every event) that national impact could be grasped through simply gathering and prophesying.

This went beyond the beauty of prophesying to hear the word of the Lord. The belief became that if we prophesied long and hard enough, if we applied the right prophetic acts or “prophetic passcodes” we could all go home fully assured that now “the nation has shifted.” We were sort of training the Church that the work of the gospel was accomplished by prophesying and then waiting for something to happen.

This misunderstanding of what makes for national change became more obvious over the years with the decline of our nation. And yet, some of us understood and longed to see the power of a prophetic and apostolic people who are…

1 . Inspired by a genuine prophetic word.

2 . Equipped with apostolic strategy in response to the word.

3 . Sent with impartation and strategy to fulfill the word.

Until our prophetic events can facilitate both prophetic process and apostolic strategy, we will continue to pray and prophesy “over the nation” with very little outcome in the nation, beyond what we felt and experienced in the building “in the moment.”

And regarding the nation… Well, it continues down the path it has been on while we wait on God to do something He has told us to do.
