MORE ON WHY I WROTE RESET AT THIS TIME

My own desire to finally lend my voice and contribute to the Church by writing the RESET actually began as a podcast series entitled “A Mature Apostolic/Prophetic.” Through this vehicle I was able to somewhat unburden myself by grappling with a few of the predominant issues plaguing prophetic ministry at this time. Also, through a number of podcast interviews I was able to hear from other authorities on the subject.

I discovered many shared the same views, frustrations and desires for maturity and truth to prevail within this aspect of the Church. There was a shared understanding of just how powerful the gift of prophet and prophetic ministry is when operating with purity, integrity and Spirit driven synergy alongside other gifts given to the Church.

Not to mention the effect had upon the entire Five Fold when the apostolic and prophetic gifts work together in divine unity.

There was a hopeful longing rather than a critical spirit…

The podcast series also allowed me the ability to receive feedback from ordinary listeners and seasoned leaders alike. It was within this season of “feedback” that I felt the need to write this book.

When the podcast aired some quite publicly applauded what felt to them like a voice of reason and redemption, others chose to restrict their affirming feedback to private messages and phone calls to me.

As private feedback came in, one could almost develop a “moviesque” picture of perhaps some public figures coming stealthily by night with cloak over head to tell me “we are with you on what you are saying.” Or “this is so needed. Sometimes followed by a subtle request to keep their affirming feedback confidential.

Although I am saying this rather light heartedly, I also discovered what history often reveals…

The truth is challenging, can be divisive, and can be costly if the truth is where your loyalty lies.

It is absolutely amazing just how powerful the gift of prophecy is. Yet I was equally amazed by just how deep some of the unchecked dysfunction has become rooted.

WHY NOW?

We have now reached a crucial point of practice where many of the dysfunctions that have gone unchecked by some of the previous generation are now being reproduced by the younger, and in turn, normalized as “standard operating procedure.”

Although it is always hard to look at some of the “ugly” and do genuine hindsight evaluation, I do believe the reader will also find the content of this book quite inspiring and edifying.

Also my desire to share what is on the pages of RESET, does not come from a perspective that any one person or ministry has a full revelation on something. “We have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). The “We” of discerning the mind of Christ in working out present day truth is important.

Rather, I was looking and longing for health and fullness within my generation, and to make my own contribution.
